Operating Instructions for Stove Chimney Pipe Thermometer:

• For use on single-wall flue pipe only
• Place thermometer 12 inches above the top of the stove
• Attach to the stove pipe using the magnet on the back of the thermometer
• For added security, drill a small hole in the flue pipe to insert a safety screw through the eyelet in the center of the thermometer (screw not included)
• Alternatively, secure the thermometer around the pipe using a wire through the two holes on the side of the thermometer (wire not included)

Ideal operating temperature for most wood stoves is between 230°F and 475°F, indicated as the “Best Zone” on the thermometer. Temperatures below 230°F can lead to a dirty, smoky fire and creosote buildup, while temperatures above 475°F consume more wood without generating additional heat. These ranges are labeled as “Creosote” and “Too Hot” on the thermometer.
